Enterprise Fete 2017
Each pupil in Burrator Class was handed £5 at the start of the week and given the challenge of working as a team to generate a profit from their money at the school Enterprise Fete. Transport Trip
As part of their Transport topic, children from Meldon Class enjoyed a train ride and visit to the Rare Breeds Farm in Totnes. For many of our Foundation Stage pupils, this was their first ever school trip!
Butterfly release
Venford Class have been taking care of some caterpillars as part of their ‘minibeasts’ topic. Pupils were excited to discover that the caterpillars turned into chrysalises, which after a short time in hatched into beautiful butterflies that were released in the school grounds.
Fernworthy Wildlife Day
Over the past six weeks pupils have been studying habitats and learning about some of the world’s most endangered wildlife and how they can play their part in protecting their environment. Burrator Class Activities Week 2017

Easter Storytelling
Pupils from Meldon class were invited to a storytelling session in the Guest Hall at Buckfast Abbey. Afterwards, everyone was given a toy donkey to remind them about the Easter story that they had heard.
French
Burrator class brought French lessons to life with their work on food. Pupils made their own ‘crepes’ and practiced their French skills by placing orders for their food.
Roman Day
As an end of topic celebration, Fernworthy Class enjoyed a special Roman Day. The children were invited to dress up for the event, which many of the pupils chose to do. The children enjoyed participating in a number of different activities including baking honey cakes, making masks, bracelets and even designing and making their own head… Read more »
Pennywell Farm
Pupils in Meldon and Venford visited Pennywell Farm. Activities included milking a goat, feeding lambs, learning about pigs, a tractor ride around the farm, looking at albino hedgehogs and even getting to hold some of the animals in the pets corner.
