Roman and Celtic Life
Pupils enjoyed thinking about what life might have been like in Celtic and Roman times and role playing some of the different jobs that would need to have been carried out.

Dance Sessions
Each class enjoyed participating in dance sessions with a local dance school, to explore a range of different dance genres. Burrator class worked on developing a whole class dance sequence with a local secondary school dance teacher, in preparation for their performance in the Body Language Dance Festival at South Dartmoor Community College.
Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day 2015 was celebrated on Tuesday 10th February, with the slogan ‘Let’s create a better internet together’, reaching millions across the UK and globally. Trip to Plymouth Aquarium
As part of their ‘Under the Sea’ topic, Venford visited Plymouth Aquarium to experience first hand some of the life that can be found in our oceans and seas and to learn about these habitats and how to protect them. Biscuit Club
Pupils were visited by Suzy, from DASH and Buckfastleigh Sharing who wanted to promote a Biscuit Club in the local area. Crib Blessings 2014
Pupils were invited to each of the parish churches at Buckfastleigh, South Brent and Ashburton to lead crib services. This year, the art club had prepared backgrounds to each crib based on a famous artist and some of our musicians led the carol singing.
Advent
This year each class created their own Advent displays, to mark the time in the church calendar to prepare for the birth of Jesus. Anti-Bullying Week
Pupils in Burrator Class helped to raise awareness of National Anti-bullying Week at St Mary’s. Pupils designed some imaginative posters reminding pupils about some key anti-bullying messages and all pupils were asked to contribute to writing a Children’s Anti-Bullying Policy.
