St Mary’s has worked with the charity ‘Caritas’ on an Intergenerational Project. This has involved working alongside local care homes, providing an opportunity for children and older people to come together. The project is national initiative, involving 110 schools in total who are engaging in intergenerational linking activities Due to COVID, there have been some limitations to the number of visits to the home, but there has been chance for the children from our Mini Vinnies group to write letters to the care home residents, send artwork and cards and for our school choir to visit. The summer months meant that our children could visit the care home in South Brent and spend time with the residents outside, creating artwork with them.
