NADSA helped to organise a visit by musicians from Divertimento Quartet. Four musicians came into school to talk about being a professional musician and also their instruments: flutes, violins and cellos. When they played together, they created a beautiful sound! Fernworthy Class and Burrator Class also got the opportunity to sing some songs that they have been learning in music lessons and were accompanied by the professional musicians. These are some comments from the children about the session:
‘We loved conducting, hearing the music go faster and faster.’
‘They really inspired me to practise music so I can play as well as they can for people to enjoy.’
‘We loved the fact that we were involved and they talked to us about their instruments.’
‘ We enjoyed listening and learning about the instruments too – some of them were over 100 years old!’
