Supporting Your Child’s Learning

As parents and carers, you are your child’s first and most important teachers. To support you in this vital role, we’ve provided some advice and resources to help enhance your child’s learning journey.

Encourage Conversation

One of the best ways to support your child’s development is by encouraging them to talk. Children who discuss their daily experiences, share their interests, and ask questions are better able to understand the world around them. This builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Enjoy Reading Together

Reading with your child is another key way to support their learning. Sharing books, discussing stories, and modeling a love of reading can inspire your child to develop their own passion for books. Be sure to check out the phonics resources linked above, which demonstrate how to pronounce sounds correctly when supporting your child’s reading. Accurate pronunciation is essential for helping your child make the best progress.

Extend Learning at Home

The school day is just one part of your child’s learning experience. Practicing skills at home helps consolidate what they’ve learned in class. Home-learning activities are designed to complement classroom lessons and should be manageable for your child to complete independently.

Let’s Work Together

If there’s anything specific you’d like more information on, please don’t hesitate to reach out. By working together in partnership, we can ensure your child receives the best possible support for their learning and development.
